Product Care

At bjiujitsu.com, we take pride in offering premium-quality Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) gis and apparel designed for durability, comfort, and performance. To keep your gear in top condition, follow these care instructions to ensure longevity and maintain the perfect fit.

How to Care for Your BJJ Gi

1. Washing Instructions:

• Cold Wash Only: Always wash your gi in cold water (below 30°C/86°F) to prevent excessive shrinkage.
• Use Mild Detergent: Avoid harsh chemicals, bleach, or fabric softeners, as they can weaken the fabric.
• Wash Separately: Keep your gi separate from colored clothing to prevent discoloration.

2. Drying Tips:

• Air Dry Recommended: Hang your gi in a well-ventilated area away from direct sunlight to preserve fabric strength and color.
• Avoid High Heat: Machine drying can cause shrinkage and weaken fibers. If using a dryer, select the lowest heat setting.

3. Maintaining Fit & Durability:

• Do Not Overwash: Excessive washing can wear out the fabric over time.
• Inspect for Wear & Tear: Regularly check stitching and reinforcements to prolong your gi’s life.
• Store Properly: Keep your gi in a dry place to prevent mildew and odors.

How to Care for Rash Guards & Spats

• Turn Inside Out: Helps protect prints and designs.
• Cold Wash & Gentle Cycle: Preserves elasticity and prevents fading.
• Air Dry Only: Avoid high heat to maintain stretchability and fabric quality.

How to Care for BJJ Belts

• Hand Wash Preferred: Keeps the fabric and stitching intact.
• Air Dry Naturally: Prevents stiffness and maintains flexibility.
