The Brazilian jiu-jitsu gi was adapted from the uniform commonly used in modern Japanese martial arts, especially Kodokan judo. The gi is typically composed of a heavy cotton jacket, reinforced drawstring trousers, and a belt which communicates rank. According to article 8 of IBJJF rules, the gi must be constructed of cotton or similar material and be in good condition. The material may not be excessively thick or hard to the point where it will obstruct the opponent. Traditionally, gi pants are made of a sturdy cotton canvas, or denim with reinforced seams/knees. Tough and lightweight materials have started to become more popular in recent years as cooler hot weather gis have become more popular .It is common in tournaments to see competitors wearing rips top pants with a standard cotton gi top.
I absolutely love this GI. Bought one of the more expensive heavy duty GIs out there, but end up wearing this one every time. Fits great and is super light weight. Put my schools patch on the back and it looks super sharp. Pants are nice and I am in love with the bungee style rope to tie them. It also comes with a really nice drawstring bag. I have owned 5 different brands now and this one is by far my favorite of them all. For the price, you will not be disappointed.
This A2 Gi fits perfect for my 5'2" 158lb frame. I have a 34DDD chest and 30" waist and it's almost as if it arrived tapered just for my body type. The pants after being washed and dried for perfectly as well. Before being dried on low heat, the pants were a little too long. This gi is super light weight and looks better than the white gis. Doesn't hold stains as bad either. I didn't think the material was as soft as some claimed. Maybe it will soften up through more washs.
This Pink Gi fits perfect! My daughter loves how it feels, she is very picky on texture.
Quality surpasses my expectations, will definitely be buying more from this brand.
I also bought my son this gi in Grey. His also fits perfectly and is good quality. He loves practicing in it.
Love this gi! The design is adorable and I love that it’s not an ultra-macho design like many gi designs out there. The kimono fabric is a little lighter than my others, but I still plan to get more colors if the fabric holds up after a few classes.
-update: couple months in and it’s still perrfect. No tears, rips, or issues after wearing and washing at least once a week.
I like it but the pants are to short top was good but I sent it back maybe if u get a bigger one.
Great price for a very good practice gi.
A good lightweight pink gi to start for women. Different variety of colours and the size fits greatly on female body type.
Coach told me to buy this gi because it’s a goo cheaper beginner option. When I brought it in she was very impressed with the quality for the price. It is light weight, and she said the way the crotch is sewn is really good for stretching your legs farther apart without worrying about tearing, which is harder to find in gi pants these days. I am 5’5 and 135lbs and I purchased the hot pink gi in W3 and it fits well. It’s slightly big in the waist but I’m sure it’ll shrink up a bit when I was it. It fits perfectly in length though. I am super happy with this gi, and I love that it’s a girly color! My only con is that it’s pretty stiff initially, but I’m told that’s normal for new Gi’s. I would highly recommend this gi!
I am 5’2” and 130 lbs. I got the bjj pink A0. This GI is lightweight, and not stiff and starchy like most others. The design of the pink Gi makes it more comfortable to move around in without having to wear a long sleeve rash guard. The pants are perfect and the drawstring tie secures it enough where you know they aren’t coming off during a roll. I have full range of motion and stay cooler then in other Gis I have worn. If your on the fence DEFINITELY get this GI. Very well made, high quality and comfortable.
As an active competitor, some of the things I look for when purchasing a Gi are: quality, durability, fit, price, weight and style. My new Gi possess all the aforementioned things. The fit is great, I'm 5'10", about 200lbs, so I wear an A3. The material is light weight and allows fluid mobility. The gi adds about 3.5 pounds to the scale. The design is simple and clean. Lastly, the cost is amazing! Bjj is an expensive sport especially when you factor in competition and travel. Most gis run for $150, with tax. Your most difficult decision will be what color to buy. I have the Pink and the White, and they are both great.
I am very happy with the quality of fabric. Very comfortable and light to roll in. Great detail on the GI and excellent fit.
It's just amazing.Bought this Gi and it was immaculate. Outstanding craftsmanship and it's been holding up to the wear and tear.
This gi was purchased for a student. Immediately she was happy with the design and fit. She is wearing this gi only during training. She has also expressed she wants to buy another soon.
